When we add paid features, they have to add more. They cannot take away what people already rely on.

Why We Built It This Way

Live viewing uses peer-to-peer streaming when your devices can connect directly. Oriel helps the devices find each other, then the video travels between them instead of becoming something we can watch or browse.

Detection is designed to stay on the camera device whenever possible. Motion and AI features should help you notice what matters without turning your home into data for someone else to inspect.

Oriel is built by an independent developer. No investors, no data-selling business model, and no pressure to make the free experience worse so the paid one looks better.
