Security should not be a luxury.

A locked door doesn't ask for a monthly fee. A window doesn't charge you to look through it. Yet somewhere along the way, home security software decided that seeing your own recordings should cost extra. That watching your own live feed without interruption is a premium feature. That peace of mind requires a monthly fee.

We disagree.

Oriel turns any spare device into a security camera. Live streaming, motion detection, recording playback — all free, no strings attached. Your footage stays on your device. It never passes through our servers. Nobody sees it but you.

This is not a trial. This is not a stripped-down free version designed to push you toward a paywall. This is what we believe home security should be.

The Oriel Promise

Core features, free to use:

If we add premium features in the future, we will never move existing free features behind a paywall. We add things. We don't take them away.

Why We Built It This Way

Most security camera apps route your video through their cloud servers. We chose peer-to-peer streaming instead. Your video goes directly from one device to the other — we never see it, and we designed it so we can't. It costs us less to operate this way, and it gives you a level of privacy that cloud architectures cannot match.

The same principle applies to AI detection. Person recognition and motion alerts run on your device using Apple's on-device machine learning. No frames are sent to a server for analysis. Your footage stays where it belongs — with you.

Built by an independent developer. No investors. No agenda. Just security that works.
