Oriel is a home security camera app designed with your privacy at its core. We believe your home video should stay in your home.

Data Collection

Oriel uses peer-to-peer (P2P) streaming. Video feeds are transmitted directly between your devices and are never stored on or routed through our servers. We do not collect, store, or have access to your video footage.

On-Device Processing

AI features including person detection and motion alerts run entirely on your device using on-device models. No video data is sent to external servers for processing.

Device Permissions

The app requires the following permissions:

• Camera — For streaming video from the camera device
• Microphone — Optional, for audio streaming
• Local Storage — For saving recorded clips locally on the camera device
• Local Network — For device discovery and peer-to-peer connection

What We Collect

We collect minimal, non-video analytics to improve the app: app version, device type, and crash reports. No personally identifiable information is tied to your video data. If you signed up for email notifications on our teaser page, we store your email address solely for that purpose.
